What is a Maven?

A maven is someone that is a trusted expert in a particular field, who seeks to pass knowledge on to others and who is driven by helping others and sharing knowledge with them.

In The Tipping Point (Little Brown, 2000) Malcolm Gladwell describes a maven as a gatherer of information who is often the first to pick up on new or nascent (emerging) trends
